Small Price, Big Tools-The 12-inch PowerBook

The 12-inch PowerBook may be the smallest portable Apple has ever made, but it has everything you need but the high price. Starting at just $1499, the 12-inch PowerBook G4 comes with a 1.5GHz PowerPC G4 processor, 12MB of memory and even more storage than ever before; equipped with a standard 5400-rpm 60GB or optional 80GB or 100GB Ultra ATA/100 hard drive. The optional 8x SuperDrive provides more power to burn DVDs; a perfect combination for the built-in stereo speakers with an enhanced midrange third speaker, stereo line-in, stereo headphone and internal microphone.

Designed for users on the go, the rugged design features a scratch- and stain-resistant aluminum alloy enclosure that weighs just 4.6 pounds. While the 12-inch PowerBook may be light on load, it’s heavy on features with a high-resolution 12.1-inch TFT XGA active-matrix display with brilliant 1024 x 768 pixel resolution. You can be sure your PowerBook will be protected with Apple’s standard Sudden Motion Sensor, which actually senses change in axis position and accelerated movement, then responds by immediately parking the hard drive heads so that disks won’t be damaged on impact when it senses a drop or fall. As soon as your PowerBook is level again, the Motion Sensor will automatically unlock the hard drive heads.

Super fast performance is provided through the PowerPC G4 with Velocity Engine, capable of processing 128-bit chunks of data, making it a perfect fit for next-generation video, voice and graphics applications.

The frustrations of trying to surf the web are gone with the newly designed trackpad; allowing users to scroll vertically and horizontally as well as providing the ability to pan around any active window. You can even customize your trackpad settings.

Support for DVI, ADC, VGA, S-video and composite video signals is also included along with support for dual display mode and video mirroring; allowing you to extend your work area or mirror projects to an external projector, big-screen TV or display.

Wireless networking has never been easier with AirPort Extreme built right in; allowing you to get online from almost anywhere included Wi-Fi hot spots in airport lounges, hotels and bookstores across the globe. And when a wireless hot spot isn’t available, you can take advantage of Bluetooth technology and GRPS connectivity to check email.

The lithium-ion battery keeps you going with up to 5 hours of battery life while the massive storage capacity provides all the room you need for all your projects.
